Welcome! To the HeartcompassTM LifeNavigation iCourse!

Before we get started, I would like to ask you this question: When was the last time someone told you that you have a perfect, flawless, guidance system within you? Yesterday? Last week? Last year? When you were a child, or…


That’s all right. Yes, that’s OK because you were BORN knowing instinctively that you have this Guidance System. You KNEW it, because you could FEEL it.

As a child you automatically felt and used your Inner Guidance System. Then, as you grew up, you may have learned to mistrust your own inner guidance. Parents, teachers, well-meaning friends and traumatic experiences can all contribute to confusion about the meaning and purpose of your internal guidance indicators (EMOTIONS).

Not to worry! No matter how confused you may be right now, and no matter what circumstances you currently find yourself in, it is NEVER ever too late to rediscover and use the power of your own Heartcompass – your own Inner Guidance System.

I have now reminded you that you have a Heartcompass. Or maybe you’ve always known it, but over time have lost touch with it, or became confused about how it works. Or, perhaps you’ve come to believe that yours is “broken”!

As long as you are alive, your Heartcompass cannot be broken. But you can misinterpret its signals or indicators.

In this Course you will learn what your Heartcompass is made of, how it works, and how to use the signals or indicators properly to get the results in life that you want.

You will learn a simple technique, called your LifeNavigation System, that uses any unwanted condition to help you identify and change your thinking, your feeling, your experience, and create new conditions in your life that are more to your liking.

Isn’t that what you have always wanted? Yes, it is!

Deep down inside you have always known that you came here to enjoy life, to have experiences, to discover what works and what doesn’t, and to create more of it! At the very core of every human being is this purpose and intention.

Even if you never heard of Inner Guidance Systems, Heartcompass and such, that would still be the intention and result of your life.

The difference, when you learn to Consciously use your Heartcompass, is the acceleration of joy, the sense of personal empowerment, and the experience of Conscious Creating.

Does all that sound good? Yes, of course it does! It is true to who and what you are.

Then let’s get started…

To follow the instructions in this iCourse, you will need a few inexpensive office supplies.

Some Post It Notepads
3X5 Index Cards
A Pen
A File Box for the 3X5 Cards
Several blank sheets of paper


A small storage box, or a 3 Ring Binder and zippered "pencil holders" to store everything.

Lesson One, Step One: Awareness

Welcome back!

Now that you have your supplies, and have been properly introduced to myself and the HeartcompassTM iCourse, you are ready for the first Lesson...

“Step One: Awareness”

Your first step in consciously using your Heartcompass and the LifeNavigation System is to

Wake up!

It’s time to realize the true nature or your physical experience!

Which of the following two statements do you believe?

1. "Life happens to me and I have no choice but to just deal with it the best I can."

2. "My life experience is a reflection of my inner thoughts and beliefs. Therefore I can be, do, or have anything I desire by choosing what I feel and think."

If you selected the second option, congratulations! You are already aware of the true nature of your physical experience and will benefit greatly from the Inner Navigation System.

If you selected the first option, then we have a bit of work to do before moving on to the next step!

And if you are somewhere in between, that is, you want to believe the second option but you’re just not there yet, I can help you take another step in the direction of Awareness right now…

Take a moment, and study this portrait of a young woman we will call Helen.

Next, read this statement about Helen:

“Helen is a young, intelligent, healthy and happy woman with a bright and promising future.”

Look again at the portrait of Helen, and notice how you feel about her.

Now, read the following statement:

“Helen is a bright and promising young lady diagnosed with a terminal genetic illness and she is not expected to live past her 30th birthday.”

Look at Helen’s portrait again. How do you feel when you look at Helen now?

What made the difference?

Only one thing changed – your thoughts and beliefs about Helen!

This is a simple demonstration, and does not reflect the true power of the mind to attract and create physical manifestations. However, if Helen were alive in your personal experience right now, your thoughts and beliefs about her would affect your actions towards her, her response to you, and could even have a very real effect on her physical health (and yours as well!)

How do I know this? What gives me the nerve to make such a claim?


Scientists, especially in the area of Quantum Physics, have discovered and continue to reveal the powerful role of your mind upon the physically manifested universe.

In a very brief nutshell, what they have discovered is that this “physical” universe, including your physical body, is made up of energy. This entire universe, including your body, appears to be a holographic projection of your mind. And your mind is made up of thoughts and beliefs, which are NOT energy – they are information. This information then shapes the energy which makes up the physical world that you are experiencing right now.

Look around. Look at your body. Close your eyes and really get this.

Your non-physical, non-energy, information rich mind is shaping and creating the very physical world you are sitting in at this moment.

Do you get that? Do you feel the power of your mind, your thoughts and your beliefs?

Exciting, isn’t it?

Now that you get it, you are ready for the next Step.

Lesson Two, Step Two of the Inner Navigation System, is about identifying Off Course thoughts and beliefs. You are now ready to start taking action to actively choose your thoughts and beliefs, and consciously create your physical reality and experience.

In Step Two, you are going to use UNWANTED physical circumstances in your life to identify and release the thoughts and beliefs that created that condition. This will help your Heart access and deliver new thoughts and beliefs to your mind, to start creating the life of your Heart’s desire!

Until then, take some time practicing your new awareness of the true nature of your physical experience. Play with it, have fun with it, and I’ll see you again at Lesson Two, Step Two!

Lesson Two, Step Two: Identify Off Course Thoughts & Beliefs

Welcome Back! To Your Heartcompass LifeNavigation System iCourse!

Congratulations! You are now half way through the five part iCourse. Just two more lessons and you will know all Four Steps to activating your own Heartcompass Inner Guidance System!

In the Introduction I reminded you that you have an Inner Guidance System or Heartcompass. You were born with this Inner Guidance System, the purpose of which is to choose your thoughts and actions and create the life you want.

In Lesson One, Step One: Awareness, we examined the true nature of the physical world you experience, and the role your mind plays in shaping and directing your physical circumstances and conditions.

Today, you are going to learn a very simple technique for identifying the contents of your mind that have created unwanted conditions. Later, you will learn how to replace those thoughts and beliefs with new thoughts and beliefs that feel better immediately, and that will begin to change your conditions for the better.

This is called Conscious Creating. It is what you were born to do!

Remember those materials I said you were going to need?

It’s time now to take out the Post It Notepads, Pen, and some blank sheets of paper.

Do you have those things with you? Good. Let’s begin…

First, you are going to make an Inner Navigation Chart. This is very easy to do! Take a blank sheet of paper, turn it sideways, and draw a line down the middle… like this.

At the top of the left column write “Off Course”, and at the top of the right column write “On Course”. That’s it! This is your Inner Navigation Chart.

Next, think of an unwanted condition you would like to change. It can be lack of money, a health issue, a relationship conflict – it doesn’t matter what it is, just pick one for now.

On another blank sheet of paper, describe in OBJECTIVE terms the condition you have chosen. For example: “My boss gave me twenty assignments to complete this week.” This is a clear, unemotional, objective description. Do not write “My boss gave me too much work again this week!” That is a subjective statement, and we will get to that in a moment. For now, write a clear, concise, OBJECTIVE description.

When you’ve finished writing your description, you will be ready to continue…

Why did we do this? Remember the portrait of Helen in Lesson One? Do you remember how your feelings changed depending on the thoughts and beliefs you had about her? The condition you just described is just as neutral as Helen’s portrait. Your feelings about it are due to your thought.

More important than that, your thoughts are creating the condition you have described. Your feelings are telling you that your thoughts are creating a physical condition you do not want. The condition is a reflection or projection of your thought (which makes the invisible visible to you.)

Now that you understand the true nature and purpose of your thoughts, feelings and conditions, it is time to take some action.

Take out a Post It Note pad from your Kit.

On the Post It Notes you are going to write your “Off Course” thoughts and beliefs related to the condition you have described on your sheet of paper. An “Off Course” thought is any thought that results in a negative emotion. Remember, your negative emotion is telling you that the thought is shaping the physical in ways you do not want.

Look at your unwanted condition and ask yourself, “What am I thinking?” For example, this is where you would write - on your Post It Notepad - “My boss always piles on the work!” Don’t stop there. Maybe you think “He is such a jerk!” and “I’m such a loser to have such a lousy job.” And so on… Write each thought on a separate Post It Note.

As you identify each Off Course thought, dig deeper if you can. For example, maybe you are afraid you will get sick from having too much work. Ask yourself, “And if I get sick, then what?” You might be afraid you will lose your job, lose your home, not be able to care for your kids, and so on… Dig deeper. Ask yourself, “And if I can’t take care of my kids, then what?” Keep going until you get to some outrageous thought about yourself that is obviously not true. You will know you are there because it will be so ridiculous it will make you laugh, or at least chuckle. When you get to this point, you know you have identified a “Core Off Course Belief”.

Working with Core Beliefs is most powerful because uprooting the “core” will uproot all related and subsequent thoughts and beliefs. It’s like pulling up dandelions. If you pull out the taproot, the plant does not grow back!

As you write the Off Course thoughts on the Post It Notes, peel them off one by one and stick them on the Off Course side of your Inner Navigation Chart. Why should you do this? I’m glad you asked!

This action tells your subconscious mind that these thoughts are “Off Course”. This is very important, and I’ll have more to say about that later.

But for now, are you done digging up and writing Off Course thoughts and beliefs on Post It Notes? Excellent! You are now ready to change course!

Tomorrow, in Lesson Three: Step Three, I am going to teach you a simple technique to access your Heart and get “On Course” thoughts and beliefs to replace the Off Course thoughts and beliefs you just identified. I’ll explain why you want to access your Heart for these all important new thoughts in tomorrow’s Lesson.

Oh, there’s one more thing!

If you ever have trouble identifying your Off Course thoughts (the one’s associated with an unwanted condition), try asking a friend for help. Find a friend who will simply listen while you talk out loud, so you can “hear yourself think”. You can also ask your friend to write down what you are saying, if that helps.

But remember, the purpose of talking about and writing down these Off Course thoughts and beliefs is to identify them. You will then use them to help your Heart choose new thoughts and beliefs that feel better. It is this contrast that helps create clarity!

Writing your Off Course thoughts and beliefs on Post It Notes is very powerful, because it transforms the invisible information into something visible and tangible that you can now manipulate. It’s like shining a light into the darkness. Now that you can see them clearly, you are no longer afraid. Also, using Post It Notes sends a message to your subconscious mind, letting it know that these Off Course thoughts and beliefs are temporary, and not valuable – after all, we tend to use Post It Notes for quick reminders, and toss them out when we are done.

That’s exactly what you will soon be doing with your Off Course thoughts. But first, let’s go to the next step, and find some On Course thoughts and beliefs that feel better!

Lesson Three, Step Three: Access the Heart

“Access Your Heartcompass”

Hello again! Welcome back to Lesson Three of Your Heartcompass LifeNavigation iCourse. Today’s lesson is a bit longer because it is a very important Step!

In Lesson Two, I left you with a pile of Post It Notes stuck to the Off Course side of your Heartcompass LifeNavigation Chart.

Today, I am going to show you how to access your Heart for the thoughts and beliefs that feel better, to replace those not-so-good feeling thoughts and beliefs on the Post It Notes.

But first, think about this a moment. Most people go through life with a pile of Off Course thoughts stored in their subconscious mind – and they are never even aware of it. You, however, have already taken an enormous leap! You are aware of the role of your thoughts in your experience. You have taken responsibility for choosing your thoughts, AND you have identified Off Course thoughts related to a particular unwanted condition in your life.

Wow! Congratulate yourself! You are on the cutting edge of “Conscious Creating”. You are one of a small fraction of humanity venturing into this territory. Soon, you will experience the many benefits discovered by those few who have gone before.

Benefits like better health, improved relationships, and financial prosperity. Sounds good? Ok then, let’s go…

But wait a minute. Remember I said I would show you how to access your Heart for new thoughts and beliefs? Doesn’t that sound a little strange? Isn’t the brain where you would go to find thoughts?

The answer to that question is where Science and Spirituality meet.

Your brain is an extremely powerful organ. A highly complex mechanism that can think and reason and perceive. It also projects. Science has recently discovered that the brain may be the “projector” through which you experience this holographic universe! ( Ref: The Field by Lynn McTaggart )

However, the brain is NOT the source of new thought. Whenever you try to solve a problem with your “head” alone, you are stuck in the limitations of past experience. Like Einstein said, you cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it.

So, where do new thoughts come from?

We have all heard of, and hopefully experienced, “intuition”.

This is the process of accessing what scientists now call the Zero Point Field – an infinite source of potential energy and information.

Remember in Lesson One you learned that thought is information. All thought exists in the Zero Point Field.

But how can YOU access it? Answer – by getting out of your “head” and into your “heart”.

The heart has been misunderstood as an organ that simply pumps blood throughout the body. It does perform this vital function. Your Heart also has neurotransmitters – it can think! But more importantly, it emits an electromagnetic field that surrounds your entire body. Your Heart sends more information to your body than your brain does. It also send more information to your brain than the other way around. ( Ref: The Heart's Code, by Dr. Paul Pearsall ,Ref: The Heartmath Solution, by Doc Childre and Howard Martin. )

Your Heart has access to the Zero Point Field. It does this through your Solar Plexus. This is where we get the term “gut instinct” or “gut feeling”. The reason you want to access through the Heart is that only your Heart can provide Inner Guidance. The Solar Plexus has access to infinite energy and information. Your Heart gives you indicators so you can select what is good for YOU.

But that’s enough biology, physics, metaphysics and spiritual information for now. Remember, even if you don’t know how an engine works, you can still drive a car. The same is true for your Inner Navigation System. Knowledge can be powerful, but more powerful than knowledge is experience.

It’s time for you to experience this for yourself.

For this step you are going to need your Objective Description of the circumstance or condition you are working on, the Inner Navigation Chart, and the Off Course thoughts you identified in Step Two. You will also need a pen, your 3 x 5 Index Cards, and an Index Card File.

Read your Objective Description and your Post It Notes.

Now, close your eyes…

Close your eyes and take two or three deep breaths. Imagine the energy flowing down into your belly and out through your toes. Open your eyes, and look at this illustration of your Heartcompass.

See the white light coming from the Heart? Good. Now close your eyes again and imagine this white light coming from your own Heart.

Next, imagine your unwanted condition perfectly resolved to your liking. How does that feel? That good feeling is your Heartcompass indicating that you have focused your attention on what you want.

Hold onto that good feeling and open your eyes. Look at the Post It Notes and ask your Heart for thoughts and beliefs to replace them.

Close your eyes one more time. Breathing deeply, focus on your Heart and re-establish the good feeling if you lost it a little bit. Listen for the answer.

Your Heart communicates in images and emotion. Your brain will translate the message into words for you. Be patient and allow this to happen. Take your time, until you get the answer…

You will know you have the Truth from your own Heart by how it feels. If it feels very good, then it is True.

When you have the answer, you are ready to complete this Step…

Take out a 3 x 5 index card from your Kit. On it, write down the On Course thought you received from your Heart. If you have more than one new thought, write each thought and belief on a separate card.

Take the 3 x 5 card or cards and place them on the On Course side of the Inner Navigation Chart. This sends your subconscious mind the message that these thoughts are On Course.

Read it out loud. When you read out loud, notice how you feel. Does it feel good? Yes? That’s your Heartcompass letting you know this is a thought or belief that will create what you want.

Congratulations! You have just used an unwanted condition in your life to identify thoughts and beliefs that are creating the unwanted condition, and used those to help your Heart find new thoughts and beliefs that will create what you do want!

In Lesson Four: Step Four, you will learn how to INSTALL your On Course thoughts and beliefs into your subconscious mind where they will operate on Auto Pilot! It’s very simple, and very fast.

You will also learn what to do with all those Off Course thoughts on the Post It Notes (hint: it’s fun!).

Until then, notice how much better you feel right now.

Tomorrow, you will install the new thoughts and beliefs, learn about how and when to take action, and get ready for people and resources to start appearing “out of nowhere” to help you get anything you want!

Lesson Four, Step Four: Install New Thoughts & Beliefs

Welcome back to the fourth and final Lesson of your Heartcompass LifeNavigation System iCourse!

Just like all good endings, this is really just the beginning!

So far, with the LifeNavigation iCourse you have learned some important stuff about the true nature of your reality. You are experiencing the role your mind, emotions and spirit play in shaping that reality. And you are taking actions to consciously choose and create your own experience and conditions.

In Step Two you identified thoughts and beliefs related to an unwanted condition in your life. You took control by writing them down on Post It Notes and sticking them on the Off Course side of your Inner Navigation Chart.

In Step Three you accessed your Heart for thoughts and beliefs to replace the Off Course Post It Notes.

Today, in Step Four, you will install the new On Course thoughts and beliefs and release the old Off Course ones.

For today’s lesson, you will need your Inner Navigation Chart, Off Course Post It Notes, On Course 3 x 5 Index Card or Cards, and your Index Card Mini File.

Got all that? Great! Let’s finish up here…

Right now you have a bunch of Post It Notes stuck to the Chart. I bet you’re already feeling pretty detached from them, aren’t you? That’s very good! Remember how upset you felt before you did this process? You are making tremendous progress!

You also have a 3 x 5 card or cards with thoughts and beliefs from your Heart. Put them on the On Course side of the Chart if they are not already there. Read them out loud again. Do they still feel good? If they do, you can install them now. If not, you may want to repeat the process and receive some new cards.

What do I mean by “install” a new thought or belief, and why would you want to do that?

That is a very good question, and I am so glad you asked.

The vast majority of our feelings and actions are a result of subconscious thought – thoughts and beliefs in the subconscious mind. It is the subconscious mind that does the work of attracting and creating our circumstances and experiences. A thought or belief in the subconscious mind is on “Auto Pilot”. You don’t have to be consciously aware of it to get things done.

Thank goodness, because the conscious mind is not made to do such things. Remember, your conscious mind is there to perceive, reason, and make choices. Now that you have consciously chosen a new thought or belief, let’s install it in your subconscious mind – and – forget about it!

This is a very short and easy step, but it’s important. It’s so simple you may be tempted to dismiss it, but please don’t make that mistake! You may be familiar with "Affirmations", that need to be repeated many times to be accepted by the subconscious mind. This is very different. On Course thoughts that come from your Heart can and will be accepted by the subconscious mind instantly. This is because they "feel good" and that means there is no resistance to overcome.

This is how you install your new On Course thoughts: Take your 3 x 5 card or cards, and file them away in a safe place. You can use an envelope or a shoebox or your purse, but the best place is a 3 x 5 index card file. They are readily available at office supply stores or department stores like Wal Mart and Target. Filing your 3 x 5 card in an index card file like this informs your subconscious mind that you want to “keep it”. When you want to save important information, you put it in a file, don’t you? Well, your new On Course thoughts are extremely important information, and they deserve to be properly filed!

One final step – and this one is fun! Peel all those Post It Notes off the Chart, and RIP THEM TO PIECES and throw them away! You have just shown your subconscious mind that these thoughts are “garbage”. Just toss ‘em out!

How does THAT feel!

If you are feeling a sense of relief, or any other positive emotion, that is your Heartcompass letting you know that you are back On Course! Positive energy is flowing through you now, and you are attracting and creating what you want.

You can now go about your day noticing how good you feel and the many positive people and resources that are attracted to you. This is such a powerful process that you can expect physical manifestations within a day or two of completing the process. It happens all the time!


Remember I started this lesson by telling you it was just the beginning, and it is!

This is the beginning of your new life journey – Consciously Creating your physical experience using your Heartcompass LifeNavigation System.

Continue the process by using your Inner Navigation Chart as often as possible.

I would also like to suggest that you keep a Gratitude Journal. Use your Gratitude Journal to keep track of your progress, which will help you stay motivated. Also, by expressing Gratitude for the positive emotions and physical manifestations you will be experiencing you can “keep the ball rolling” and stay On Course more often.

To learn about the incredible effect Gratitude has upon water (and your body is made up mostly of water), I recommend "Messages From Water" by Masaru Emoto.
